Please do not buy the Chinese knockoff traps, they are not the same quality and simply do not work. This is the Best rat and squirrel trap you can buy. Simple to use trap that will catch multiple rats or squirrels in one night. It dumps the rat in the trash can and resets for the next rodent. It has a magnet that holds it steady until the rat gets close to end of the plank. Then it dumps him in. You can clean out a barn, garage or house fast with this design. With this trap I just set it up and forget about it for a few days. Plus, you can just dump the dead rodents out and not have to touch them. USA made and guaranteed to work. To set up the trap all you need is a trash can or 55-gallon drum. I even found a USA Made 32-gallon trash can at Walmart for $9.97. You also need a scrap piece of wood for the rat to climb up or place the trap next to a workbench or some other elevated surface the rats can climb. Use the included screws to attach trap to the trash can and the ramp to the trap. Than fill can about 1/3 with water. You can also use windshield washer fluid, so it will not freeze. Add a little bit of your bait to the end of plank. There are a few different ways to mount the trap to the trash can. You can simply hang it on the side of the trash can and secure it with the supplied screws. Or you can a hole in the trash can and attach it to the can, so you can keep the lid on the trash can. I also add one of my “Walk the plank mouse traps” to the opposite side of the trash can so that I will catch mice and rats at the same time.
