Sarracenia flava var. rugelii Seed grown 3 year old plants
This flava rugelii was bred from 2 very exceptional and large growing forms. When plants mature, they should have chunkiness as well as size and that great maroon blotch in the throat. Each plant is seed grown, in active growth and will be sent bare root ready to plant. Last year many of these grew over 12 inches tall. LIVE Carnivorous Pitcher Plant (Sarracenia Juthatip Soper) Beginner Friendly
Savage Gardeners The “Juthatip Soper” North American Pitcher Plant is a hybrid cross between a white-topped Leucophylla and a purple Purpurea. When mature it grow to around 12 to 16 inches tall. It has beautiful coloration that varies by the intensity of light and nice ruffled lids that look stunning near to the end of the growing season. Like most North American pitcher plants, “Juthatip Soper” attracts insects with a lovely patch of sweet nectar right at the base of the lid. Insects are drawn to this nectar and are encouraged by tiny downward facing hairs to move down into the pitcher. At some point the insect loses its footing and falls down the tube. At this point the bug slowly converted into plant food through digestion by enzymes and bacteria. Yum yum! Your new plant is a medium-sized plant. It is a division taken last year from a mother plant and has pitchers about 9″ tall. Growing instructions will be included.
