This Calvatia gigantea growing kit is designed for cultivation of these amazing tasty giants in an outdoor environment. The kit is very simple to use. I will send more details and tips to up your chances of success along with each order. Here’s the quick version of how it can work. You will just need a clean container that can hold 4 gallons of water. Then you simply add the spores, molasses and salt ( included with each order ) to the water and mix . Then let it sit for 48 hours. Then simply pour on the ground in an area that you would want to try your luck. If you only have a grass yard to work with you can still have success. Well fetilized grass yards are known to support the growth of these giants. I believe it is because Calvatia Gigantea is possibly a mycorrhizal fungi. The scientific community doesn’t seem to agree how to classify this fungi in the way it feeds, but I will share my thoughts in the instructions I send. I have grown many types of mushrooms using different techniques successfully. This will be my first try at growing these with this technique and I’m very excited about it. I will include my email address with the instructions. P.S. If you wonder if you’re really getting 1 billion spores, these mushrooms can have 5 to 7 trillion spores. The specimen that I harvested these spores from was mid sized and for sure had way over a trillion spores. I separated it into 70 bags. So just saying it had 1 trillion, that calculates to 14 billion spores per bag on the low end. Its more likely double that. Also for some reason people are unaware that these are edible and taste great. Just only eat them when the inside is white. Once it starts turning yellow that means the spore production has started .
