Planting in moist soil is best for seeds to germinate and emerge quickly. After the peanuts have sprouted, thin the plants to 4-6 inches apart. If transplanting, sow 2 peanut seeds per 2-4 inch pot, 1 inch deep, 4-6 weeks before the last average frost date. After the last frost has passed, harden off transplants and sow outside.
